A Grand Day Out
Estune lodge organised a visit to Chelsea Lodge on Friday the 18th of March and what a great day it was, we left Nailsea at 09:45 and this is where the fun began.
We had our very own Quiz Master the APGM Martin Slocombe who put together some very entertaining quizzes, which everyone eventually received a prize. We arrived at London in time for a bite of Lunch and a few refreshing drinks before making our way to the Grand Lodge, what a beautiful building this is.
The ceremony was taking part in the Egyptian room and what a room indeed, the lodge was supported by over 300 Brethren from across all areas of the UK some from as far as Leeds.
The ceremony started and the WM W.Bro Peter Locke passed the Gavel to W.Bro Freddy Davies who was to initiate one of his close friends, an excellent ceremony was witnessed with some comedy thrown in along the way by Roger De Courcey. I must say hearing the opening Ode being sung by over 300 people in such a large room the acoustics were amazing it made the hairs on my neck stand up.
After the ceremony we all gathered in the Grand Dinning Hall in the Connaught rooms where the festive board was served, we also had some great cabaret with laughter and song.
we left London at 22:00 hours for our journey home it was great day out with some great company and I look forward to our next Grand Day out.
