Welcome to the SMCA
W Bro Steve Collings of the Lodge of Agriculture in Yatton is the leading light in forming a new (July 2020) Masonic Cycling Club in the Province of Somerset.
This club is open to cyclists of any age or ability, and in its earliest days has attracted lots of interest with 20+ brethren signing up with Steve via email, and who are already enjoying lively chat in a new WhatsApp group.
The club will organise regular rides throughout the Province starting with a tour of all the Masonic Centres in Somerset to help promote the new club.
Having a separate Cycling Club will provide the opportunity for all family members and friends to become members of the cycling club and enable them to take part in the cycling events and social functions.
This venture will have various positive aims and benefits such as:
- Promoting Freemasonry amongst those who are, or have already been cyclists
- Demonstrating that Freemasonry is relevant within the realities of modern day life
- Improving personal health
- Riding safely
- Involving the family
- Charitable Fundraising
- Community development
