Masonic Caravan Club
The Masonic Caravan Club, South West region currently hold 4 rallies a year, one each in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Great fun is had by all, from ages 2 weeks and up to… well that would be rude to say – but Masons of all ages and their families are welcome to join us.
We have a strong membership from within the four counties and further afield, so if you would like to become a member and you are not within our counties please don’t worry, make contact with us via the Masonic Caravan Club.
The National Masonic Caravan Club was formed several years ago; it is open to any brother with a caravan or motor home.
About ten years ago it was decided to split the country into regions and the MCCSW was formed comprising, the counties of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset.
Both national and regional groups meet four times a year and any brother can join any other county’s rally. The SW group meet in each of the four counties once a year.
In addition the national group hold a 14 day rally somewhere in Europe each year, this year’s rally was to be in Brittany but due to covid it had to be cancelled.
A rally usually runs for 5 nights Thursday to Monday but you can do as many nights as you like and can often stay for extra nights at the rally price which is usually less that the commercial price.
Format is very relaxed, no meetings or ritual. Friday we have a meet and greet to renew acquaintances, with either cheese and wine or cream tea.
Saturday evening we try to have a little get together, Bbq or similar and Sundays we always have a group lunch in a pub or restaurant.
There are currently about 30 members of the SW group and an average rally would be about 15 to 20 vans or motor homes.
A brother can also invite guests to join him at any of the rally’s even if that guest is not a brother and in that way we have recruited a few onto the square.
So if you have a caravan or motor home and would like to spend time with likeminded people come along to one of our rallies’ and see what it’s all about. Or drop me an email for more details.
