Custard at Christmas!

On learning that Weston’s Foodbank was running out of custard the local Lodges sprang into action! Within 24 hours, an appeal from Stuart Boyd of Tivoli Lodge was producing fruit (so to speak!) In fact the need was for far more than custard. During December the foodbank tries to ensure that in addition to the usual supplies those needing help are given a few ‘extras’ in the form of mince pies, Xmas puddings, and of course custard! In addition, families with children are given a small supply of ‘sweets and treats’.

The generosity of local Masons has been extraordinary! They have provided over 80 Xmas puddings, gallons of custard, sweets, chocolate, selection boxes, and Xmas crackers, as well as a good supply of the more usual groceries. A particular mention must go to the Brethren (or more likely the Ladies!) of Winscombe Lodge in Yatton who asked if they could join in and produced absolutely beautiful individual ‘Goody Bags’ each containing a selection box, chocolate money, a colouring book and crayons, pens, pencils etc.
