Macmillan Coffee Morning – Update
Sep 24th at the Clevedon Masonic Centre
On Friday 24th September, another very successful McMillan Coffee Morning was held in Clevedon Masonic Hall.
This was, hosted by Brian Clayton, almoner of Gordano lodge, and organised by his wife Carol, who also baked many of the delicious cakes. The Welsh cakes in particular proved especially popular, as did Brian’s new recipe for Rhubarb Turnovers.
Around 40 people supported the event which was held in a Covid safe environment, with temperature checks on the door, copious amounts of disinfectant and hand sanitiser and masks….except when drinking coffee or tea and eating cake!
Ray Beckingham was on hand to represent the Province, and the Clevedon Masonic Hall Committee kindly donated the use of the hall. Neil & Zena opened up despite feeling somewhat under the weather, and many others provided cakes and a raffle prizes on the day.
The current total is £570, with the possibility of some more to come. Brian and Carol would like to thank everyone that so very generously supported the event, and very much look forward to next year, hopefully without Covid restrictions.
