SMCA June Ride
Tales from the saddle of Mike Norton – ‘Five Hold a Ride from the SMCA’
Sunday (26th June) and five members of the Somerset Masonic Cycling Association (SMCA) were back in the saddle for a ride. Alan Rogers was lead cyclist and route organiser for the morning.
Starting at Clevedon sea front, the small but perfectly formed peloton set out for a 42k ride, which was fairly flat (324m of elevation) and headed out on a circular route via Bristol airport. The weather was kind as the sun shone for most of the ride, until a downpour around Bristol airport had the cyclist scrambling to find cover in the trees. In true SMCA fashion, coffee and cake were consumed in vast quantities at the end. Well done guys.
It would be great if we could get some volunteer route organisers and dates mooted around on the WhatsApp group for July to October or send me an email!
Look forward to seeing you all soon, and some of you on Saturday at the Party in the Park or Nailsea Beer festival; I will be there Saturday Afternoon.
Happy cycling
Mike Norton
