My garden consisted of a large slope and very little patio. In an attempt to make more space for my young kids to play, I decided to level it and put in flower beds/planters, lay a larger patio and build a retaining wall hidden by a wooden seating area. I also made a matching fire pit for entertaining and grew the grass from seed. This took me 2.5 weeks, working 8 hour days, alone armed only with a shovel and circular saw. I have no prior knowledge of building etc.The first pic shows the garden before the transformation.
