Appointment of APGM, Organisational Changes and other Provincial Appointments 2019/2020

Provincial Grand Master appointments announcements:

Deputy Provincial Grand Master W.Bro Ben Batley was pleased to announce 11 November 2019 that the Provincial Grand Master intends to appoint W.Bro Richard Winter, PPrSGD of Admiral Blake Lodge No. 4692, Assistant Provincial Grand Master at the next meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge to be held in April 2020.  Richard will cover the East of the Province whilst W.Bro Martin Slocombe, PJGD will continue as the APGM in the West.  W.Bro Barry McCormack, PSGD will be appointed to the role of Provincial Director of Ceremonies.  Each Assistant Provincial Grand Master will continue to support a geographical group of Lodges assisted by a small team making use of the five area structure.  The APGMs will also continue to lead Provincial Fraternal Visits to our lodges.

In order to enhance the delivery of Care and Charity across the Province and beyond, the PGM is also pleased to announce the appointment of W.Bro David Maddern, PAGDC, ProvGChStwd to the role of Director of Care and Charity as a member of the Provincial Executive.  Whilst continuing in his role as Provincial Charity Steward David will Chair a Committee drawn from the Somerset Provincial Masonic Charity, our Almoners, the Friendship Association and the provision of support to our Masonic Care Home at Cadogan Court, Exeter.

The PGM is also keen to adopt a structure that provides opportunity to identify future leaders and embrace a culture of inclusion with our Companions in the Royal Arch and members of other Orders. As a result I am pleased to announce RW.Bro David will appoint W.Bro Clive Lambert, PPrGSwdB of Kenneth Kinnersley Lodge No. 9218 to Provincial Senior Grand Warden, and W.Bro Neil Hurcum, PPrGSwdB of Southey Lodge No. 6650 to Provincial Junior Grand Warden at the next meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge in April.”
