Nailsea and Backwell Beer and Cider Festival

Following on from the the success of last year, over the weekend of the 7th, 8th and 9th of July Somerset Freemasons helped out at the festival, marshalling the car park and manning the Gazebo.

Despite the intermittent rain showers, the event was a great success with many helpers, including a new Mason and potential candidate helping out. Stewart Galway was a man on a mission with the car parking, making sure they went in the right direction and parked correctly!

Rob Hughes getting the team some sustenance

The event last year sparked some interest in Freemasonry, with one new applicant; this year there were quite a few enquiries, so we may get more applicants. The Somerset Gazebo was next to the Children’s Hospice Southwest stand, with one of their team coming over, saying “We love the Somerset Freemasons, they just rock up regularly with a cheque, from all over Somerset!” Which was great to hear!

The Teddy bear raffle was also well supported, with the winners being extremely happy!

Rob Hughes who organised the helpers, sent a huge thanks to everyone for helping out and is looking forward to next year!
