Teddies for Loving Care

Red Ted’s Adventures in Somerset

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is running a “Teddies for Loving Care” (TLC) challenge, to gather photos of Red Ted (with the heart-shaped nose) travelling around the UK.

Background:
TLC is a registered charity operated by, and funded with, donations from freemasons.  It in the UK and has spread to Ireland, Cyprus, Spain, USA, South Africa and Australia and supplies Teddy Bears Hospital A&Es and Minor Injury Units, which in turn are given at the discretion of the hospital staff to children who are admitted, and who are in distress.

TLC in Somerset:
TLC started in our Somerset in 2003. We supply 14 hospitals, and have donated over 50,000 bears.
We also supply the hospices in our county, and have supported the Women’s Refuges.
Last year the Somerset TLC team held a raffle and raised £6000 for NHS Charities
