Emergency Services Lodge sends Teddies to the Children affected by the Exmoor Disaster
Whilst none of their members attended the scene of the horrendous accident on Exmoor, on Thursday 17th July, from first thing on Friday morning members of the Emergency Services Lodge were delivering TLC teddies to Musgrove Park Hospital for the children affected.
TLC Teddies are donated to hospital staff, and are given at their discretion to children who are admitted, in severe distress, where the staff feel that a teddy to cuddle will help to relieve that distress and will aid the staff in giving required treatment.
The quickly diverted teddies were originally destined for the Nailsea and Backwell Beer and Cider Festival and teddies from the ‘World of Bears’ shop in Taunton, and say, ‘Hugs from Taunton’. The Province of Bristol also ensured that that the Bristol Children’s hospital had a good supply.

The Emergency Services Lodge is liaising with the Minehead lodges and Chapter to see what else can be done to support the children and the school.
