Have Motorbike will travel!
Columbanus, the special interest Motorcycle Lodge recently held their meeting at Burnham on Sea Masonic Hall, where the main business of the day was to receive their second MCV, this time from Graham Puddy a Grand Officer and the Provincial Grand Charity Steward, accompanied by 8 members of the Provincial Team.

The meeting sparked a lot of discussion and was received extremely well! The meal that followed was the usual high standard everyone comes to expect at Burnham thanks to John Chinn, Anti Pasti, Fish Pie followed by Sherry Trifle.
Columbanus are a special Lodge for a number of reasons, they are one of only a few Motorcycle Lodges in the UK, they cross the Provinces of Somerset, Glos and Wilts, they mainly meet at Keynsham but also hold meetings around those Provinces and they hold five meetings a year, four of which, in the summer months so they can ride their bikes to the Masonic Centres.
They differ from the Widows Sons as they do not follow the American style of riding large Cruisers, wear Cut off jackets or Badges (colours), they simply enjoy riding their motorbikes, holding meetings as well as social rides together. At least two of the members rode over for 2 hours to get to Burnham on Sea yesterday.
The Lodge would welcome existing Masons who enjoy Motor bikes as well as new members who would like to become a Mason and share the love of Motorbikes.
