Calderley Chapter of UnionNo 906 – Installation meeting – March 2025
The Chapter met at the Masonic Hall in Clevedon for a very enjoyable meeting, and was opened by Martin Slocombe, who welcomed everyone including the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Ray Guthrie, two Past Grand Superintendents, Denis Calderley and John Bennett, Deputy Grand Superintendent, Neil Hurcum, and the Second Provincial Grand Principal, Graham Puddy.
After dealing with some general agenda Items, the three new Principals were Inducted: Julian May (Zerubbabel), Adrian Halliwell (Haggai), and Andy Clapp (Joshua).
The Principals then installed their Officers for the year, and this was followed by David Parslow giving the address to the Principals, ably assisted by Steve Wilson.
This being complete, the Sceptre was symbolically passed to Ray Guthris to put some thoughts into the standing of Calderley Chapter in The Province. A good discussion followed with numerous input from some of the Calderley Liaison Officers, about 50% represented, other members of the Chapter and guests. Ray has taken away some useful thoughts and will be giving his thoughts in due time.
On the Third Rising John Bennett presented Denis Calderley with a bottle of Whisky to mark his move to Rugby, to live near his daughters. John gave a brief resume of the formation of Calderley Chapter and the naming of it. Denis said he will be back!
The Chapter was closed and the companions retired for a fine Festive Board.
