Frome Masonic Lodges Extend Heartfelt Thanks After Successful Open Doors Event
The Royal Somerset Lodge, alongside fellow Masonic lodges meeting in Frome, have expressed their sincere gratitude to the community following a highly successful open doors event. The event, held at the Frome Masonic Hall, saw approximately 100 visitors eager to explore the building and learn more about Freemasonry within the town. The open day provided a unique opportunity for the public to gain insight into the history and practices of Freemasonry, dispelling myths and fostering understanding. Visitors were given guided tours of the Masonic Hall, learning about the symbolism and traditions associated with the organisation.

“We were absolutely delighted with the turnout,” said Tino van der Woude who coordinated the event. “It was wonderful to see so many members of the community showing such keen interest in our organisation. We aimed to create an open and welcoming environment, and we believe we achieved that.”
The event proved to be a resounding success, with many visitors expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about Freemasonry. The Lodges aimed to demystify the organisation and provide a transparent view of their activities and values. “We wanted to break down any misconceptions and show people what Freemasonry is really about,” Tino continued. “We are a community-focused organisation that values charity, integrity, and friendship. The open day allowed us to share these values with the wider community.” For those who were unable to attend the open doors event but are still interested in learning more about Freemasonry in Frome, the Lodges have extended a warm invitation to contact them directly.
