60 years and still going strong !

The 12th March proved a very special evening for VW Bro D John Bennett and Coleridge Lodge when the Provincial Grand Master paid a visit to present John with his 60th Veterans Award.

In the question and answer session VW Bro John explained he was brought into Freemasonry by his Father in Law to be who seemed equally delighted to bring John into the fraternity as he was in John marrying his daughter !

VW Bro John had a very distinguished career which had lasted the 60 years without a break , even on the night John was acting Worshipful Master and had served Coleridge Lodge with distinction.

The PGM explained to the brethren that John had also served 10 years as Grand Superintendent, and was the driving force behind the running of the Hall at Clevedon, exemplified by a new clock that John had presented to the Hall to mark his anniversary, as you would expect from John it is a unique design encompassing masonic symbols instead of numbers and all hand-made, look out for it on your next visit to Clevedon. John replied with thanks to the PGM and all the Brethren and Companions throughout the Province who had made the last 60 years so enjoyable and that he looked forward to meeting again in 10 years time.

Many Congratulations John.
