Tynte Lodge Installation
What now seems to be a new tradition at Tynte Lodge, Peter Arthur James was proclaimed by the Director of Ceremonies, Alan Chambers, as Master of the Lodge continuing in office for the forthcoming year – his second term.
But the evening began on a sad note, in that we paid our deepest respects to the late Barry Griffiths who passed recently to the Grand Lodge Above. Paul Bateman, who had for some time been his carer, presented an excellent heart-felt eulogy for Barry.
Tynte brethren welcomed Garry Hawkes, ProvSGW, representing the PGM, and Andrew MacKay, ProvAGDC to the meeting.

Following the very brief appointment of our WM, Peter appointed his team of Officers for 2025/26 and although for many it was a reappointment, it was good to see some younger light blues moving up the ‘progression ladder’ and one or two taking up a new post.
Peter Willcox was presented with his Grand Lodge Certificate and Royal Arch introduction letter by the Provincial Senior Grand Warden, Garry Hawkes.

As this was an Installation Ceremony, we had the pleasure of many guests from not only our own Province, but also a joyful crowd from King Arthur’s Lodge in Cornwall (courtesy of Tony Saunter). (image two)
As always, the Festive Board was excellent and was followed by several meaningful but at times very ‘humorous’ toasts from Tynte Brethren and our guests.
