It’s Farmed Out To A Father Farmer At Vivary

On the 17th January, the Vivary Lodge 8654, Taunton held their traditional Past Masters’ meeting, where they take over the duties of the Principle and Assistant Officer roles for a ceremony. Acting Worshipful Master Richard Wilson temporarily handed over the Chair to Henry Besley to initiate his son Mr Mark Besley into Freemasonry, with the assistance of his fellow Past Masters. Both Mark & Henry (pictured above with Richard) are local farmers and there were several masonic farmer colleagues present to witness this very special masonic occasion. The ceremony was expertly performed by Henry and was thoroughly enjoyed by all brethren present, with Richard Wilson also expertly guiding the candidate around as the acting Junior Deacon – so a really busy night for Richard!

Vivary Lodge was also then honoured to receive the Travelling Trowel from Wellington School Lodge 7230, which saw a contingent of brethren hand over the Trowel to Richard Wilson, with the Trowel then being delivered to the Emergency Services Lodge 9391 in Taunton on the 23rd of January by Vivary brethren.
