A Marathon Effort

Jim Shove, DC of the Abbey Lodge, recently presented a cheque for £500 from Lodge funds to his daughter, Alison Hooper. Alison raised a total of £1671 for the Brain Tumour Charity by running the London Marathon, to assist a friend who had successful surgery to remove a brain tumour.

A staggering 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour every year! Brain tumours are indiscriminate and can affect anyone, at any age. Furthermore, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

The Brain Tumour Charity are moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
