Bruce Poole 50 not out!
At the recent meeting of Somerset Tablers Lodge in Ilminster, Bruce Poole received his fifty year certificate from John Winstone. Over the years Bruce has been a prolific mason being the founding secretary of Tablers and is still the current secretary, an Assistant Provincial Mentor as well as a Parish Clerk, Scout Leader (receiving one of the highest honours in Scouting) amongst many others.
In fact John Winston was one of the Scout Leaders that worked with Bruce when he was the Scout Commissioner. There were eight Grand Officers, including the APGM Richard Winter, in attendance as including John as well as 33 other guests of Bruce on the night (11 from his other Lodge Rural Philanthropic).
The visitors also witnessed an excellent Passing Ceremony conducted by John McHardy, followed by a sumptuous Festive Board, at the Shubbery hotel, where Bruce continued his generosity by supplying wine for all his guests.
A busy night all round, as not only did Bruce receive his certificate, the Travelling Trowel was delivered by the Master and Officers of the Prudence and Industry Lodge, in superb style.
Congratulations Bruce and all at Somerset Tablers Lodge for an excellent evening that will stay in the memory for a long time.
