Wraxall Lodge 9011 Christmas Meeting

Wraxall held the last regular meeting on Friday 2nd December this was a short meeting without any ceremony to deal with lodge business, During the meeting we received a wonderful talk on The Holy Royal Arch or Chapter by W Bro Ray Beckingham, this was very informative with some very interesting history lessons for all who attended. Also, Bro Stewart Galway gave a little talk on the need to establish a membership committee to develop a strategy for the members pathway, it was mentioned during this talk it is important that the team should not be prescriptive but should allow every member of the Lodge, from the newest to the most experienced, to have the opportunity to contribute to Lodge and Membership Development. A willingness to embrace change as part of inspiring and motivating Lodge Members will be a pre-requisite for success. If you are interested in being a member of this committee then please contact our Lodge Secretary.

The festive board truly was festive with a Turkey dinner, a huge thanks to Sam and her ladies who have looked after us all at our meetings, the food was magnificent. I hope our visitors enjoyed the food as well.

During the festive board our secretary informed us of some information regarding local food banks and that so many people are in need of help as they have to decide whether to heat the places they live or eat, as they do not have enough money to do both, the tales of our amazing NHS staff, our Nurses etc, junior police officers and emergency staff not having enough money to survive, so our brilliant secretary has started off an initiative he calls carry the can, other lodges might want to get in on this and help donate canned foods etc so we can get them to the food banks, contact W.Bro Steve Chapman for more details. The raffle was held, and the money raised £135 is going to be donated to a local food bank.

We wish all our brethren and visitors a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year which we are starting off with a Sunday Lunch on the 15th of January news to follow.

Some of our Visitors and Brethren enjoying the evening
