After three years of as master of Prudence and Industry 1953, John Nichols made the first of two donations to worthy causes. The first was a cheque for £1876.04 was presented to Debbie Birtwisle, Community Fundraising Officer of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
John and the members of Prudence and Industry raised the money with raffles, skittles evenings and a spectacular Ladies Night. In addition to this, a huge effort was made by John’s wife Jackie, who ran a number of flower-inspired workshops and raised a lot of money. She was a star!
