New Master for King Alfred Lodge 3169
W Bro Steve Taylor, following a very successful year as Master of the Lodge, installed Bro Ralph Howard as the new Master of the Lodge. The ceremony went very well and all appreciated the excellent way that both the installing Master and new Master carried out their parts in the ceremony. The Lodge was also honoured by presence of the Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro Richard Winter, PJGD.
The new Master Bro Ralph Howard was initiated into King Alfred Lodge In 2016, and raised in 2017. This followed a distinguished military career with 35 years of service in the Army, finally leaving the service as Lieutenant Colonel in 2015. He progressed through all of the offices of the Lodge in consecutive years finally now achieving the Masters chair.
At present all the Lodges progressive offices are filled by Light Blue Brethren, and two of them presented the working tools very proficiently to the Master. The first Degree tools were presented by Bro Andras Kirkman-Kovacs and Bro Robert Brown presented the second degree tools.
The Lodge was pleased to have a fraternal visit of eight brethren from the St George Lodge No 3158, at Taunton, led by their Master W Bro Steve Thraxton.
The Lodge is again looking forward to a very productive year, starting next month with the first of two first degree ceremonies.
