King Alfred’s Garden Party

The King Alfred lodge no 3169 Summer Charity Garden Party was held at W Bro Terry Porter’s house in Hutton. The event was very well supported by Brethen and guests and the excellent amount of £1000 was raised, including a donation, for his chosen Charity.

The weather held out on the day, with just a few short showers, so the coconut shy and other games went well.

Following his success at last year’s event, the entertainment was provided by Dennis DeMilne, and as expected he was again excellent and his singing was enjoyed by all those attending.

The WM, W Bro Steve Taylor, thanks everyone who attended and assisted in making it such a successful, enjoyable event and for raising such a superb amount for his chosen charity. 

This was Steve’s last event as Master of King Alfred, and following a very successful year in the chair, he raised the magnificent sum of £4,578 for his nominated Charity, the South West Children’s hospice at Wraxall.
