Taunton Deane Installation 2022

The Temple was very well attended and the meal (steak and kidney pudding) after a very good ceremony a real treat. Keith Baker had the honour and privilege as the Provincial Vistor, to be escorted into the lodge not only by members of Taunton Deane, but by no less than two Past Provincial Grand Masters.

Harry Price – 46 years after the first time!

The meeting of Taunton Deane Lodge No. 5221 on 3rd March 2022 was a very special occasion for W Bro Harry Price PPrJGW and for the Lodge as a whole.

Harry was Installed as Worshipful Master of the Lodge, 46 years after the one and only other time that he installed in the Chair of King Solomon. In so doing, Harry became the first Worshipful Master IN the an lodge ever to become Master of Taunton Deane Lodge.

Among those present supporting Harry were Past Provincial Grand Masters R W Bros. David Jenkins and Stuart Hadler, as well as the Provincial Senior Grand Warden W Bro Keith Baker.

Harry was Initiated into Ivy Lodge No. 1441, meeting at Penge, in 1965 and became its Worshipful Master in 1976. In the following years he served as Assistant Director of Ceremonies, Director of Ceremonies and Almoner for a total of 14 years.

A move to Somerset saw Harry join Taunton Deane Lodge in 1990. Never one to sit back, Harry was also Assistant Director of Ceremonies and Director of Ceremonies for 8 years before taking a well-earned rest.

The year ahead is likely to be an interesting one with a mix of London, Somerset and Harry Price ritual!
