50 year Certificate for Dave Redman
The Worshipful Master of King Alfred Lodge No. 3169, W Bro Steve Taylor, recently visited the home of W Bro David Redman to present W Bro David with his 50-year Veteran’s Certificate. W Bro David took great pride in wearing his Collar and Apron for the presentation.
W Bro David is a Lewis who was initiated into the Lodge of Agriculture No. 1199 on 20th December 1971. He was Passed on 21 February 1972, Raised on 15 May 1972 and became Master in 1984. He joined King Alfred Lodge in November 1993 where he was made an Honorary Member in 2019.

Profession
Took over the running the family farm in Wick St Lawrence at the age of 24 following the sudden death of his father aged 58. Still has a small caravan site on the farm.
Hobbies & Interests
His passions were clay shooting and skittles and he did well in both hobbies. He went on to become the Somerset Young Farmers clay shooting champion.
David played Skittles for New Inn Worle and Unionist Club in Weston-super-Mare where he won many trophies. He was mentioned in the local paper for scoring 70 on one occasion.
He served as a Director of the Weston-super-Mare Constitutional Club, where he followed his father, and following David’s retirement, his son has taken over from him.
