Square Meals to the rescue!
The Chefs who cover the week-ends at Cleeve Court Care Home at Twerton in Bath tested possitive for Covid on the Friday 14th and so were unable to attend work that weekend. The Square Meals Team based at Bath Masonic Hall were able to step in and save the day!
Cleeve Court houses over thirty five of the most elderly and vulnerable residents of Bath. The week day chefs were able to make enough meals to feed the residents on the Saturday. What to do about Sunday Lunches? Square Meals to the Rescue!
The Bath Masonic Hall Trust with support from the MCF in London had been able to fund the preparation of hundreds of Christmas dinners over the festive period. They were all cooked by the Chef at the Bath Masonic Hall, Ben Hayward. Most of them were delivered to local charities and to patients being discharged from the Royal United Hospital. It just happened that some of the dinners were held back in case of an emergency. Good job!
So when the call came in for help we were able to deliver forty turkey dinners with all the trimmings, portions of vegetables and forty Christmas pudding sponges with vanilla custard.
Another example of how the Bath Masonic Hall Trust and local Lodges have been able to support their community during the Covid pandemic.
