Royal British Legion – Exciting Opportunities
Brethren, I’m sure many of you will be aware of the very generous donations made by the Lodges and the Province to support the Royal British Legion Home at Bishops Lydeard in Somerset last year. In conjunction with the MCF, the province of Somerset was also involved funding a specialist employment manager for the Royal British Legion South West.
This activity, with the contributions from many other Provinces, has led to developing a successful relationship between United Grand Lodge of England and the RBL. During recent discussions we have been asked if we can assist them with Poppy Appeal Organisers, this role being an essential part of their fund-raising activity.
Nicola Wearing, RBL Head of Philanthropy advises they are in need of Organisers in several areas of the country, particularly in the Taunton area of Somerset and comments “We are grateful to everyone who gives us the gift of time in helping us to support the Armed Forces community. We aim to make volunteering with the Legion an enjoyable and rewarding experience.” Further information on the role can be found here: Do IT | Connecting people to do good things
Brethren, If you are already involved with the RBL, as a Poppy Appeal Organiser, or in any other capacity or you would like to be involved in this important activity and support this UGLE/RBL initiative, please respond directly to me. We have been informed of vacancies in the Taunton area and that there may be opportunities in other parts of the Province.
