Bath Freemasons receive Community Award.

The Bath Square Meals project to provide meals to vulnerable people in Bath & North East Somerset has delivered the 30,000th meal since the start of the pandemic lockdown last year. The project has been given the Shining Light Community Award by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

Funding for the project has come from many Masonic sources, Lodges in Bath and throughout Somerset, other orders and of course individuals, raising the amazing sum of £65,877.

This means that the project is now fully funded through to September this year when the children will return to school after the summer and the organisers hope to be able to close the project. By then Square Meals will have delivered 35,000 meals !

The award is recognition of all that has been achieved by the project. Arrangements will be made to display it in the foyer of Bath Masonic Hall for everybody to enjoy on their return to normality this autumn.

The on-line awards ceremony which took place on 12th May can be viewed by clicking on this link – Bath Freemasons feature after 35 Minutes and 25 seconds.
