St Kew Race Night
St Kew lodge 1222 in Weston recently held a race night to raise funds toward the Master W Bro Gordon Vinnicombe’s last Charity night before he passes on the baton to the new master in April. The event in aid of the British heart foundation and Mind raised over £900 and was well organised by Charity Steward W Bro Trevor Barnett. It was well supported and the numbers were boosted by a band from the Widow’s Sons.
The Widows Sons is an International Association which is open to all Freemasons who enjoy motorcycling and have a desire to ride with and associate with their fraternal brothers. They are part of the South west Chapter, and were members of the Wyvern Chapter, which only received its own Charter in 2019.
The Officers and Members of the Chapter have been working hard to bring The Widows Sons to the notice of Lodges in Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire to offer fundraising support for the Lodges and Provinces, attending functions on their bikes whenever and wherever possible so, if you’re interested in enquiring about The Widows Sons, or having us come along to an event for people to see the bikes etc. please don’t hesitate to email our Secretary on ws-wyvern-secretary@outlook.com
They certainly come well dressed, in their identifying Regalia, and the band that supported St Kew were from left to right Sean “Bargain” Biggins, Tom “Phoenix” Kingman, Mike “Choo-Choo” Parnell, Brian “Pitstop” Horn (Secretary), Harry “Riff” Blinston (President), Jim “Royal” Hayward (Vice President), Rich “Skunk” Walter (Treasurer).
