Wraxall Lodge raises money for Macmillan Cancer Charity
W Bro Ray Beckingham, the previous worshipful master of Wraxall Lodge writes…
Having just completed my year as Worshipful Master of the Wraxall Lodge,
my mother Lodge, I have had the pleasure of raising money for several charities. Today I visited the Macmillan Cancer Charity support unit at Weston General Hospital and presented Mrs Genevieve Drinkwater the area supervisor with a cheque for £1250.
Genevieve is receiving the cheque from me and she is accompanied by Gillian Robinson who has been a volunteer at the centre for 24 years. Genevieve stated that the money raised would support one nurse for a week and she was very pleased to receive the donation and thanks all Freemasons for their continued support of Macmillan cancer.
I chose Macmillan Cancer because of the support my wife Chris received when we were first told that she had a cancer called Neuroendocrine Tumours on her lungs three years ago. Fortunately they have not grown and so she is only being monitored and no treatment is needed at present.
I personally thank all of the brethren who have supported my chosen charities this past year.
