The Lodge takes its name from the family name of Sir Thomas de Cheddre, this being the spelling of the name of Cheddar village as late as 1700. We meet at the Masonic Hall, Church Street, Wedmore, BS28 4AB on the second Thursday at 18:30 except October Months – Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Oct (Installation 17:00), Nov and Dec.
Sir Thomas de Cheddre is a relatively small lodge with membership numbers remaining around the mid-thirties since it’s consecration in 1986. It is often referred to as a most “Friendly Lodge”. Visiting brethren find the warmth and friendship of our Meetings and Festive Boards a pleasure and frequently return.
The Lodge is also well known for its social events to involve our ladies on more than just the traditional Ladies’ Festivals which are celebrated either locally or with weekends away. Long established additional events include barbeques/garden parties held at the home of the current WM, together with Christmas lunches, Scottish Nights and or Valentines Nights held at local venues.
Lodges of Instruction or more familiarly speaking “Summer Schools” are held during the months June to September to give progressive officers the opportunity, should they so wish, to gain early experience in their new roles for the ensuing year. The “Summer Schools” also serve to provide some relief for those suffering withdrawal symptoms due to there being no regular meetings during this period.

St Cecilia Lodge No 9341
Meets at 18:30 except October, on the fourth Monday
Months – Feb, Mar, Oct (Installation 17:00) and Nov
Somerset’s very own musical Lodge, was originally constituted as a ‘Travelling Lodge’ – taking its music to other Lodges in the Province by invitation. In more recent years it was decided to hold all four meetings at Wedmore. However, the Lodge still regularly supplies singers and music for major Provincial Team Meetings such as Lodge Consecrations, Bible, Banner and Organ Dedications
